Our Story

RTC Group was founded in 1950 by visionary entrepreneur Rajesh Thapa, who began with a modest trading business in Kathmandu. What started as a single import-export firm has evolved into a multinational conglomerate with interests spanning manufacturing, energy, hospitality, real estate, and financial services.

Today, under the leadership of the second and third generations, RTC Group employs over 45,000 people across 32 countries. We remain committed to the founding principles of integrity, innovation, and inclusive growth that have guided us for over seven decades.

Foundation

Rajesh Thapa establishes RTC Trading Company in Kathmandu, importing textiles and consumer goods.

1975
Manufacturing Expansion

Launch of RTC Industries — the group's first manufacturing facility producing packaged foods and beverages.

1995
Energy Division

RTC Power is established, commissioning the group's first hydroelectric project.

2005
Global Reach

International expansion begins with operations in India, Bangladesh, and Southeast Asia.

2018
Digital Transformation

Launch of RTC Digital Ventures, investing in fintech, e-commerce, and enterprise technology.
